Information about United Professions AFT Vermont Medical Teams (Feb. 1, 2010)
Teams
- Teams are going every week for two weeks
- Overlapping to help make care consistent
- They have put in place teams for the next twelve weeks and have the capacity to go further out.(the response of people who want to go is tremendous)
- United Professions AFT Vermont is collecting the data for persons interested in traveling they will also have this list available for potential volunteers needed for tasks necessary: fundraising, acquiring, supplies, etc.

Fund raising is being referred to the web site http://www.vermonthaitiproject.org and earmarked Medical Teams, VFNHP or AFT
Traveling teams are prepared with packing lists, immunization lists, conference call to the on ground site for conditions
Future teams members are being asked to raise money to cover airfare.
For travel purposes the suggested size of the teams is 6 per team
Location United Professions AFT Vermont teams are presently set up in a mission Good Samaritan in Jimani DR.
Comfortable set up with water, electricity. Teams are being provided with transportation, lodging, food and water. There is a communication center there.
Some of the team is also working in a makeshift hospital in Fon Parisian in Haiti
United Professions AFT Vermont is willing to send teams anywhere; the criteria being that there is secure source of transportation, lodging, food and water
According to the conference call, supplies at the Jimani site are well stocked…Things will change as the situation, site and patient population change. United Professions AFT Vermont is collecting medical supplies and presently storing them at its office. There is a wish/need list that is updated as each team reports back daily. The supplies will be inventoried.
