ColeStarkeyTo whom it may concern:

“Ride for Haiti” is my own personal month long/ 3,000 mile journey by bicycle to help raise support and public awareness for The Vermont Haiti Project’s relief efforts and ongoing missions in Haiti. On March 8th I will be departing Glenside, PA en route to New Orleans, LA. The goal is to talk to as many people and post as many fliers as possible to draw people into our website: www.Rideforhaiti.org.

The concept of the ride is appealing on two levels; to cyclist: a month of consecutive centuries is an impressive feat; to those outside the sport the idea may seem totally abstract. On either level people will want to know the story behind the tour, and the website will offer this. Our dedicated website team will keep an updated blog with stories and photos that I will be sending from along my route. The ride will draw people to the site, but the purpose behind the journey will keep them involved.

In addition to information about my bicycle ride, visitors to the website will have the opportunity to learn about the Vermont Haiti Project’s mission and ongoing relief efforts in Haiti. Donation options are available throughout the site enabling visitors to contribute directly to the Vermont Haiti Project. When visitors choose to do so their name is included on the “donors” page and their contribution is included in our online fundraising tally.

As a business there are a few different ways you can become involved. The foundation of this effort is grounded in the amount of people we are able to reach. By simply posting our flyers in your business your are enabling us to reach more people and are helping us to raise more support for an organization and a country so desperately in need. If you would like to further your contribution to the effort by making either a monetary or material donation we have a few options:

  • Businesses who donate at any level will have their shop listed on our “donors” page.
  • Those businesses that to contribute $200 or more will have a link to their website featured on our “links” page.
  • Businesses that contribute $500 or more will become official “Ride for Haiti” sponsors and their name will be featured on each page of our website and will also be featured on our flyers and tour jerseys.

Thank you for your support. If you have any questions or would like to learn more about how you can become a part of “Ride for Haiti” please contact me at 215.237.2873 or by email at Cstarkey05@yahoo.com.

Sincerely,

Cole Starkey
