Building the Dream

Fund Raisers to assist VHP’s Vocational Center

WashDespagne_Dormington, DC, November 23-- The nation’s capitol, and the surrounding area will be the site of a fund raising and informational tour for Vermont Haiti Project’s newest program.

Despagne Felix (left), VHP partner and project manager of the Duchity Vocational Center (“Despagne’s Dream”), will be in the U.S., to meet with interested benefactors, and discuss the progress of the planning and construction of the center.  Currently, the first building- a dormitory- is half completed; classrooms and a community center are in the design stages.

Duchity is the hub of a rural mountainous region made up of 21 villages, and roughly 20-thousand residents.  The response amongst local residents about a first-ever training institute has been overwhelmingly positive.

Learn about the center... Help with the building... Share in the “Dream”.
