Details of expenditures in 2012:
Duchity Organization for Vocational and Voluntour Experience (DOVVE): $24,880 for ongoing development of the vocational school.
Ecole Foyer d’Espoir– primary school: $11,075 for teachers’ salaries, supplies and state exams.
Water purification: $5,135 for Biosand filters, installation and education.
School uniforms for Desab primary school: $1,000
Truck maintenance: $2,111 for insurance, repairs, tires on the old truck.
Sale of truck: $750 (VHP paid $6,750 for the joint purchase of a truck in 2010 and sold its share for $6,000 in 2012).
Truck rental fee: $450
Truck shipment to Haiti: $5,483 for the shipping company, customs fees, taxes, registration and insurance. This new (used) truck was a donation to VHP.
Fundraising costs: $2,763 for supplies, donor gifts, purchasing items to sell or auction, table fees, venue rental.
Administrative costs: $2,139 for postage, printing, bank fees, telecommunication, meetings, tax accountant.
Fiscal sponsorship: $3,259 for Stone By Stone to support the medical clinic.
Planned expenditures in 2013:
$30,000 for the DOVE vocational school construction
$10,000 for the Biosand water filter project
$8,600 for support of the Ecole Foyer d’Espoir primary school
$2,000 for truck maintenance
$2,500 for fundraising costs
$2,000 for administrative costs
It is the policy of Vermont Haiti Project that the organization will never compensate any directors or officers.
All goods, services and funds provided by Vermont Haiti Project are directed to citizens of Haiti. There are no goods, services or funds provided to citizens of the United States nor to any of those US citizens involved as volunteers for our project. (Volunteers on our organized work trips to Haiti directly pay their own travel, lodging and incidental expenses, and do not remunerate the Vermont Haiti Project in any way for participation.)
