BioSand Water Filters
The problems surrounding potable drinking water in Haiti are epidemic.
Working alongside Haitian professionals in this field, we purchase water filters for home installation. In addition to filter installation and maintenance, our staff in Haiti educates residents on hygiene, health, and clean water usage.

Biosand water filters can make a difference and save lives where other technologies fail or are too costly for communities. Made of simple components, these filters are comprised of a concrete container that is filled with layers of sand and gravel. Water is poured into the top of the filter where a diffuser plate evenly distributes the water over a sand bed layer. The water then passes through multiple layers of gravel. Through this filtration process, the removal of
contaminants and disease is possible.

The filtered drinking water is tasteless, clear, and safe!
